Job Description – 2nd Shift CMM Inspector

Alpha Q, Inc. is seeking a 2nd Shift CMM Inspector to join our team! In this role, you will inspect & determine the quality status of parts at location check, first piece operation acceptance, in progress and final inspection. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the position to include, but not limited to:

•         Inspect complex and intricate mechanical parts and fixtures to ensure compliance with specifications
•         Evaluate part quality and document reasons for any nonconformance or rejection
•         Utilize existing inspection setups and develop new setups to verify dimensional requirements in accordance with product design
•         Perform occasional manual inspections as needed to support dimensional verification and quality requirements
•         Troubleshoot and assist in resolving day-to-day inspection issues related to methods, equipment, and corrective actions
•         Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings and technical specifications
•         Perform surface plate inspections as needed to measure and validate critical features
•         Support continuous improvement efforts within the inspection process
•         Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

•         1 - 3 years’ experience in CMM inspection
•         Experience with PC DMIS for Hexagon CMM's, CAD tools, and GD&T
•         Working knowledge of various handheld inspection devices and gages
•         Excellent mathematical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently
•         Punctual, reliable, and willing to work overtime as deemed necessary by supervisor to meet customer demands
•         Familiarity with High QA and ProShop ERP software is preferred

Education Required:

•         High school or vocational graduate

Compensation: 

•         $23  - $28 per hour (2nd shift includes a 20% shift differential)

Hours: 

•         Second Shift is 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM, Monday – Thursday with overtime available on Friday as needed
